Jamie-Lee works with individuals and whānau in a wide range of family law contexts, bringing principled advocacy and sound legal judgment to complex and often high-stakes situations. She acts in matters involving parents, caregivers, extended whānau, and children, in both legally aided and private cases, and is also regularly appointed by the Court as Counsel to Assist and Lawyer for Child. Jamie-Lee acts for individuals, whānau, and trusts across all areas of Māori land law. She has experience appearing in the Māori Land Court and brings a tikanga-informed and principled legal approach to matters involving whenua, governance, and whānau relationships. Services include: • Applications under Te Ture Whenua Māori Act 1993, including: – succession, partition, and occupation orders – establishment and variation of trusts and incorporations • Advice on ownership, governance, and land utilisation • Whānau and hapū dispute resolution • Family Protection Act applications involving Māori land • Representation and advocacy in the Māori Land Court

Jamie-Lee undertakes mediation and alternative dispute resolution work focused on resolving matters outside the courtroom, where appropriate. She is trained through the Resolution Institute and may act as a mediator or as counsel representing parties engaged in mediation and other alternative dispute resolution processes. She accepts private instructions for these matters and brings a calm, fair, and pragmatic approach to supporting parties to reach durable and workable agreements. Jamie-Lee undertakes collaborative practice work in family and relationship property matters, supporting parties to resolve disputes without litigation, where appropriate. She is trained in Collaborative Practice, a process recognised by the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP), and brings a principled, solution-focused approach to complex family transitions. Drawing on her experience in family law, Jamie-Lee supports clients to reach durable, interest-based agreements through supported decision-making and structured negotiation. She accepts private instructions for collaborative matters and works with clients and other professionals to resolve issues constructively and with dignity. Jamie-Lee undertakes advisory, facilitation, and training work relating to the application of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and tikanga Māori across legal, organisational, and policy settings. Her work includes supporting courts, government agencies, iwi, and community organisations to embed tikanga principles and uphold Te Tiriti partnership obligations in decision-making, dispute resolution, and process design. Drawing on her advocacy experience and cultural grounding, Jamie-Lee brings a relational and values-based approach to integrating tikanga Māori within contemporary legal practice, particularly in complex or contested contexts.
